Fred Rogers is a popular target for conservatives who blame him for making a generation of "wimps."
That they don't understand normal human beings, especially children, need comfort when confronted by trauma & loss is more proof they all have sociopathic tendencies.
I've said it on here before: Mr Rogers (and its recent spinoff, Daniel Tiger) is the only TV show that I actually think out-performs me as a parent. In 45 mins of either show, my kid will learn about some cool musicians, get an imaginative chill-out time, learn a social skill, gain exposure to people with different abilities or ethnicities, and sing a song about loving yourself and the people around you. All that, and it's still not an ADHD bananafactory. Think I can do better?
