How boring a person do you have to be to actually attend a concert of John Williams music? this stuff was 30 years out of date the day it was written by the John Williams company (because John Williams is a team of a couple dozen people - the actual Jon Williams writes the melodic lines of the main themes and then his employees compose the actual score, I don't think he's done a full score since the early 80s).

This is the Garfield of music, is what I'm saying.

The Mothership - 2019-11-19

Agreed, but it was a music school's performance. Look at the age of those performers, they're in college.

The Mothership - 2019-11-19

I would go if it were my kid is what I'm saying, but not otherwise.

Mister Yuck - 2019-11-19

How can a classical film score be "out of date"?

Cena_mark - 2019-11-19

Because there are different trends and movements to classical music. It hasn't been static since the days of Mozart. What you're saying is like thinking Run DMC and Kendrick Lamar are the same because they're both hip hop acts, but there's over 30 years between them, and you can tell the difference in styles.

OZ, where did you read about the "employees do the score" information? I'd be interested to read more about how his assembly line works.

Mister Yuck - 2019-11-19

"Because there are different trends and movements to classical music." Thanks boss, but this isn't classical music, it's a film score using a classical orchestra. The point is to write a score that reinforces the emotions of the movie, not to innovate within a genre. So how could it be outdated?

Two Jar Slave - 2019-11-19

It's about dinosaurs, for one.

Cena_mark - 2019-11-19

You see there are eras and movements to film scores. Film scores have evolved since the days of pianos accompanying silent films. To act like film scores haven't evolved would be like thinking there's little difference between Chuck Berry and My Chemical Romance just cause they're both rock acts.

Mister Yuck - 2019-11-21

Well, Two Jar convinced me. I retract everything, carry on.

Rosebeekee - 2019-11-19

Holy fucking shit!
It's a dinosaur.
Jesus Christ, what the fuck?
Oh my fucking God,
Fucking dinosaurs.
Holy shit, what the fuck?
