Well that was random.

Marlon Brawndo - 2020-02-11

The look on Scorcese's face makes me think he knew about this in advance and demanded that they not go through with it. Just a look of resigned disgust.

Exactly how lame are you if you believe that in 2020 rolling out Eminem is a show biz power move.

He has one of the saddest grifts in music today, Eminem is 47 years old and still jumping up and down on stage like he's some sort of rebel fighting the system, as he makes millions of dollars. Plenty of "edgy" artists have turned pathetic in middle age, but there's something especially sad about watching a middle-aged man whose bit is dressing like a kid from the hood.

I can't even think of him as "Eminem" anymore, he's almost fifty, at that age he should be a grown-up with a grown-up name. He's aged terribly, in time he'll fade away and perhaps all posterity will remember him as is as a sad comment on the crass corporate culture of the era, exactly the opposite of everything he claimed to ever be.

On the plus side, the Oscars' rating were even less than they were last year, supposedly a drop of six million viewers. We can only hope this is a trend.

What about the old rockers? Why is rapping at middle age bad, but rocking is okay when you're the stones or arrow smith?

Scrimmjob - 2020-02-12

shut up cena

William Burns - 2020-02-12

@Cena Mark Rock music performed by old people is only acceptable if they are insane megalomaniac speed metal weirdos or crusty bluesmen. Rap music performed by old people is only acceptable if their names are E-40, B-Legit or Die Antwoort.

Eminem produces the same ratio of bangers to utter garbage that he always has.

Lose Yourself is a fun song, and when you gripe about a rapper in his 40s "jumping up and down on stage," you sound even more geriatric and irrelevant than Slim Shady.

BHWW - 2020-02-15

No, you.

Marlon Brawndo - 2020-02-12

The old rockers are pretty cool when they get old. Especially the ones from the Boomer generation.

Robin Kestrel - 2020-02-13

Weird Al’s version of this song was an improvement.
