I recently had to help someone fix a 45 jukebox, it had never occurred to me how the thing had memory. The old dude I was working with is a 45 box guru, and he gave me a runthrough, very interesting stuff.

Scrimmjob - 2020-03-30 Worth mentioning, the disabled coin mech parts are super common anytime an operator sells an old jukebox for home use. They don't want anyone to use it to make money again once they sell it! Not sure if he mentions this, while the jukebox has a memory of which songs to play, they can't play the songs in the order you picked them. That didn't come into play until jukeboxes got digital computers.

In my experience ease of use is in the backseat on the decision to disable, remove, and in some cases maim coin chutes and set things to free play. In fact the only people we'd ever sell something too without disabling the ability for it to take coins/bills would be another operator who we work with.
