A good one! Grade-A boobery at the end.

I've never had fun watching a Breen movie like I do with Wiseau or Nguyen's. My experience with him has been Kaufman-esque where it's more fun talking about the man and the myth than it is to actually sit through his efforts.

Breen's movies aren't like those made by a Wiseau-type, where it looks sort of like a standard film as made by aliens with only a vague idea of how humans behave, but a whole other sort of weird, a man with messianic delusions making these movies about how awesome he is.

That said, it's more fun to watch Breen go on about his delusions and see other peoples' reactions to his gibbering gab foolishness than actually watch a Breen film.

I like Breen films because they are never small. He always swings for the fences. And when he swings he always misses, lets the bat slip out of his hands, and sends it flying towards the first case coach.

I appreciate Breen hasn’t tried to lean into the cult audience. But his movies are best enjoyed as highlights. Twisted Pair shows a guy who wants to say a lot of things but only has 3-4 “story” mechanisms to do it so he just repeats segments over and over again to express these... er... ideas. It’s pretty exhausting after the third repetition and you’re just waiting for a new flavor of wtf to show up.

I find personally most “so bad it’s good” movies aren’t much on repeat viewings unless you can devote your attention to the friends you’re watching with, not the movie itself. His stuff is definitely true bonkers at least.

I unironically love Rawhead Rex.

Which of those tattoos were yours?

That was one of the movie covers that scared me as a kid when I walked through the horror aisle, checking out movies my mom would never let me rent.

OZ unironcally loves a LOT of stuff that others love only ironically. This leads to a whole cornucopia of questions.
