Trumpettes have been freaking out over ANTIFA buses with the degree of stupidity not seen since the War of the Worlds panic.

Hazelnut - 2020-06-17

Hoping to make them this year’s “invading migrant caravans” I expect. Which worked in ‘18 juuuuust enough to preserve a Republican Senate to make a mockery of the impeachment trial.

I genuinely hope the needle will move enough that it won’t work this time. There is a shift in the country, and it doesn’t have to convince the hardcore Crashtars; it’s enough to move 5 or 10% from 2016. Desperately hoping enough of Middle America is frustrated enough to actually look and see what’s going on.

Crackersmack - 2020-06-17

Middle America has families that rely on the few decent industrial jobs that Joe Biden tried to make obsolete with the TPP.

simon666 - 2020-06-17

Crackersmack: It seems like the market has spoken: Industrial jobs in developed nations incur a labor cost that is too great. Maybe the Middle America should take responsibility for itself and read the market like everyone else. Why are they entitled to industrial jobs at this day an age? Why didn't they see the changes starting in the 1980s and start on the path to a career change?

Crackersmack - 2020-06-17

...because they have the ability to vote for candidates that don't view them as acceptable losses to the market gods (at least openly)?

It's not about being "entitled" to industrial jobs, it's about having enough political leverage to be able to demand trade policy that doesn't encourage the intentional economic destruction of their communities. And like it or not the rust belt states still have that leverage, as HRC could tell you.

Unfortunately there will always be people that are unable or uNwilling to get an advanced college education even if were widely available and free. Some people are just not smart enough or not motivated enough to do so.

These people need a way to earn a living or UBI. And UBI in America is unlikely to -ever- happen.

A decent unionized manufacturing base with a living wage is a way for these people to earn a living, have a stable life and possibly raise kids to have better opportunities than they did.

Or they could be homeless, working multiple slave wage jobs or be exploited in the “gig economy” to scrape by as the 1% gets richer.

ANTIFA is coming for your 2007 Vizio 720P TV with the Fox News chyrons permanently burned into the image.

Maggot Brain - 2020-06-17

Why do these right winger types looks like they've never eaten a vegetable.

Also- where can I get a job working for antifa?

M-DEEM - 2020-06-17

Can you drive short busses?

hammsangwich - 2020-06-17

"common sense", "patriot", "christian", "conservative". Usually if you lead with any of these, you're a fucking idiot and have no thoughtful position other than stating some bullshit ideology. I'm sure I forgot a few.

SolRo - 2020-06-18

“Parent”, “tax payer”, “gun owner”

SolRo - 2020-06-18

Also use “proud” way too much

Old_Zircon - 2020-06-17

ANTIFA are an optics nightmare, but stuff like this makes it forgivable.

SolRo - 2020-06-18

The optics are bad only because the right smeared them and the left was too squeamish to say fascism is bad

Old_Zircon - 2020-06-18

No, they're also bad because a small but visible minority of them are teenage Black Bloc LARPers who identify with it because they like to break shit. That's been true as long as I've known about Antifa (late 90s) and has probably been true ever since teenage punks started putting anarchy symbols on their clothes in the 70s.
