He's right.

MLK's life had the major impact. His death only caused violence and nothing good came of it.

Floyd's death has caused a worldwide protest movement and is resulting in real changes.

Your little clique is so blinded by your bern zealotry that you can't see how stupid you're getting.

Pillager - 2020-06-14

"You know the rapidly rising umm uh in with uh with I don't know.'" - Joe Biden

Res ipsa loquitur

SolRo - 2020-06-14

You could be obsessing over all the visible neurological degradation trump is showing, his state ordered violence against protesters, his desperate fantasy about becoming a fascist strongman that can “dominate” “the blacks”.

but he didn’t beat Bernie in a primary so he’s not as bad.

Hazelnut - 2020-06-14

Pillager, I'm curious: what actual point did you imagine you were making with this video?

Crackersmack - 2020-06-14

hey Sol you might want to google about the civil rights legislation that was passed in the immediate aftermath of the protests of MLK's assassination before you say something hella stupid like "his death only caused violence and nothing good came of it" again

like yeah you just pull stuff out of your ass all the time because you're an ignorant moron but come on, have some minimal standards here, it takes two seconds to look it up on wikipedia

SolRo - 2020-06-14

There needs to be a more specific logical fallacy added;

“Pleading to google’s authority”

Make any claim

Refuse to reference said claim

Demand the other party “just google it!”

Claim victory if other party refuses to do you work for your or cannot find that conspiracy theory message board on the 10th page of results.

Anaxagoras - 2020-06-14

Ummm... Biden (and SolRo) is right. MLK's life had more of an impact, but Floyd's death did indeed have a greater worldwide impact.

ez - 2020-06-14

Which one has a holiday named after him?
King wins: 2 falls to 1.

Crackersmack - 2020-06-14

This campaign is elder abuse.

themilkshark - 2020-06-14

I mean if we're really going to take a statement about dealing with systemic racism and take it out of it's actual context to smear the challenger to Trump in a few months, isn't it white privilege to work against the candidate Black voters chose in the primaries? Like, who are we hurting by nitpicking how Biden deals with the mess our country's in? There's nobody else running for President, it's Trump or Biden and it's months away. What are you fucking doing?

Crackersmack - 2020-06-15

Black voters didn't choose Biden, white voters did. He increased the white turnout in SC by 112%. Who knows how many were Republicans that switched sides temporarily?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-15

>>>Black voters didn't choose Biden, white voters did. He increased the white turnout in SC by 112%.

Okay, You're not actually addressing who black voters voted for. Is that on purpose?

>>>Who knows how many were Republicans that switched sides temporarily?

Not you, I'm guessing.

Crackersmack - 2020-06-15

lol good luck with that line of attack, I'll be here to call you a fucking idiot in November when Biden loses the same states that Clinton did and black turnout is at an all time low because who the fuck is going to vote for this racist old basketcase?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-15

Let's recap, shithead:

You made assertions about the recent past, i.e. the primaries.

I challenged your assertions.

And you responded by moving the goalposts, all the way into the future. You haven't been able to back up your assertion with facts, but you'll be calling me an idiot in November.

But I haven't made any assertions about what's going to happen in November. You'd do better by calling me an idiot right now, for letting you waste my time with your weak shit.

Crackersmack - 2020-06-16

you people are fuckin weirdos

themilkshark - 2020-06-18

Crackersmack, if you're certain that Trump is going to win in November, and you're calm about that, then that's all I need to know about your intelligence

That guy - 2020-06-14

I more or less disagree with this but I'm going to 5-star for solro being a turd on legs.

SolRo - 2020-06-14

Oh noes!

That guy - 2020-06-15

I love how you came and found this.

SolRo - 2020-06-15

Yes honey, I read the comments on a front page video so that must mean you really “owned” me.

That guy - 2020-06-15

owned you before

SolRo - 2020-06-15

Hazelnut - 2020-06-15

While there’s no disputing That Guy’s point, the video is still a shitty attempt at a shitty non-argument, so one star from me.

SolRo - 2020-06-15

What a child.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-14

1. I think Biden may be correct.

2. Maybe he's not.

3. I don't care.

4. Fuck you, Pillager.

Enjoy - 2020-06-14

I'm sorry this happened to you.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-15

5. Fuck you, too, Enjoy.

When we were talking about Biden being accused of sexual assault, that was a real thing. You had to take that seriously. You had to confront that, in your own mind.

But what the fuck is this? In my opinion, this is some Sean Hannity level chickenshit. Are we going to spend the next five months swatting at these rhetorical mosquitos?

Let me help you out. According to someone, I don't recall exactly who, maybe John Oliver, Biden is still running on a pledge for additional funding for police. Now THERE'S a valid issue, something that ought to be discussed and perhaps criticized. THAT'S a real issue.

Pillager - 2020-06-15

What do they say about the minds that created our problems?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-16

Well, this is forty years ago, but it's certainly ABOUT something. So you're moving in the right. Let's cut to the chase.

>>>As Biden pushed Republicans to spend more on policing and prisons, he was part of a wave of “New Democrats” pushing the party in evermore punitive directions. Now, with upward of one in every two families having suffered the harms of mass incarceration, Biden says he worries that “too many people are incarcerated.”

I'm sure this is an unpardonably low bar for you, and you have every right to your opinion. But when we talk about Biden's positions from 1980 to 1990, all I care about is that he's not standing by these positions. But still, this is valid, this is something worth talking about.

I agree. Too many people were incarcerated.

Unfortunately, "Tough on Crime" was a way for Democrats to get traction in a time when Republicans controlled the narrative. It was a disaster, but it may have prevented a bigger disaster.

Or maybe not. Prisoners are the most marginalized people in our society, so they're an easy target when politicians are trying to look tough. I don't want to excuse this; it was reprehensible, and it was the bread and butter of systematic racism, but I believe the way to prevent this from happening again is to sieze the narrative. Put Democrats in Congress, and keep them there. When Democrats didn't show up for to vote for the midterms in 2010, and Republicans seized both houses, Obama moved to the right. Same with Clinon in 94.

We have to get poor people and minorities to the polls. EVERYBODY VOTES EVERY TIME is my idea of a revolution, and then whatever happens happens.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-16

*Well, this is forty years ago, but it's certainly ABOUT something. So you're moving in the right direction.

crasspm - 2020-06-15

so who will play the part of the confederacy in this new poetv civil war?

themilkshark - 2020-06-18

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-16

I'm going to say this again: I will support the Democratic nominee. I was for Elizabeth Warren,. but if Bernie Sanders were to wibn the nommionation, I would be all in for Bernie.

In politics, there are two kinds of people. There are people who have to compromise, and there are dictators.

Crackersmack - 2020-06-16

strange that the compromise is always in the direction of corporate power and wealth and never ever ever in the other direction, no matter which party is in power

Hazelnut - 2020-06-16

I winder how many people Cracker thinks he’s convinced not to vote.

Crackersmack - 2020-06-16

I don't actually know anybody that is planning to vote for Biden or for Trump.

Hazelnut - 2020-06-16

Yeah, I weigh that statement with your usual record of honesty

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-16

>>>>strange that the compromise is always in the direction of corporate power and wealth and never ever ever in the other direction, no matter which party is in power

It's not strange at all. It's a matter of perspective. Compromise is always in the direction of who you're compromising with. If you were on the side of wealth and power, compromise would always go in the other direction.

Crackersmack - 2020-06-16

Got an example of a compromise that happened like that JHM?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-16

>>>Got an example of a compromise that happened like that JHM?

All compromises work like that, because that's what a compromise is. A one sided compromise is not a compromise.

I can name a lot, though many of them are being dismantled by the current regime: The New Deal. Medicare. Minimum Wage. EPA, OSHA, The Civil Rights Act.

What we have now is an attempt at a dictatorship that wants to end compromise and progress. Compromise and progress used to be the status quo. Compromise and progress is the status quo I would like to see restored. What we have now is the opposite of compromise and progress.

What we need, I'll say again, is everybody voting. When there's full participation of minorities and the poor, and if they vote Democratic, Democrats won't be afraid to nominate Bernie Sanders anymore. Bernie Sanders will be the compromise.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-06-16

Let me remind you, Sugar Smacks, that Bernie Sanders has endorsed Joe Biden. Why don't you go annoy HIM with your insipid carping that never goes anywhere?
