Almost makes me want to vote for Biden.

Hazelnut - 2020-07-15

Most decent people hope this clip is at least partially true.

Mister Yuck - 2020-07-15

We can make it happen. Berniecrats are winning primaries. Gotta get more of em in 2022.

SolRo - 2020-07-15

VOTE TRUMP OR THE COMMUNISTS WILL STEAL YOUR PRECIOUS BODILY FLUIDS!!!!!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-15

This looks like Eric made it on his computer, using Windows 7

Simillion - 2020-07-16

It really disturbs me that there are people on this site who are bashing Biden.

It pretty much convinces me that they are all accepting some kind of pay from a Russian-owned website somewhere to spread anti-Biden comments to disenfranchise.

It won't work on me, but it might work on someone who is afraid of what it's like to have a senile president.

Note: we have had many senile or decrepit presidents. They have usually been republican in the past, and the concept of a senile democrat may concern you. Please note, though, that Biden has a good heart. I can tell because he has faced loss. He has come to know mortality and he shows it. Trump has no heart left, it's quite obvious. He blows off questions about the hundreds of thousands dying in this country as a political move, and fails to address the emotional context of any situation -- Trump is a heartless piece of shit. Biden is not going to do that even if he has some disability. Biden will support "good folks" who will keep our country running and healing. And then after we finish with Biden we'll have a working country again and hopefully not a Russian puppet state.

Just because there is senility in the white house doesn't mean the world will end. Clearly, it has not before, and it will not in the future, definitely not under Biden.

And I don't think he is senile, really. I just want to address the possibility that he is, and state that I have fully come to grips with it.

Anyway, it's disturbing that people keep pushing this anti-biden rhetoric. They must be getting some reward for it they aren't admitting to. How else do you turn a blind eye to what Trump has done and is doing to us all? I don't get it. Either that, or they are benefiting in some way from Trump's policies, and want them to continue, but that is just not sustainable. You have to stop being selfish. You have to think of what the country as a whole needs because otherwise you will eventually end up losing too...

Hazelnut - 2020-07-17

Hear hear!!

ashtar. - 2020-07-17

The 1994 crime bill and Biden's career long escalation of the war on drugs has resulted in millions of Americans, disproportionately Black Americans, being locked in cages.

The Obama administration deported more people than Trump has.

The Iraq war that Biden provided crucial Democratic support for resulted in the pointless deaths of millions of Iraqi civilians, and cost enough to put a manned base on Mars.

The 2005 BAPCPA bankruptcy bill that Biden worked tirelessly to pass resulted in a permanent 50% drop in people able to claim chapter 7, and resulting in an explosion of consumer debt and predatory lending. Not surprisingly, he had a lot of lending companies giving him a lot of money.

Fucking NAFTA.

Not to mention that he's STILL running AGAINST universal healthcare when 70% of Americans support it and 5 million Americans have just lost their employer insurance in the middle of a pandemic.

Is he better than literal fascism? I guess? But if you think Biden has a "good heart" or will fix anything without being figuratively waterboarded by public protest, you're a goldfish-brained moron.

I keep getting confused whether I'm supposed to be paid by George Soros or Putin, but I want my fucking check.

ashtar. - 2020-07-17

I'm sorry for talking about Biden's actual record.

If you need to clap and chant "I do believe in Biden!" "I do believe in Biden!" "I do believe in Biden!" I guess I can join in.

Crackersmack - 2020-07-17

Still clinging to the Russia hoax, even this long after it was disproven? How embarrassing for you.

Hazelnut - 2020-07-17

Thanks Ashersmack for proving Simillion's point.

Crackersmack - 2020-07-17

...the point being "something Russia something something"

Nominal - 2020-07-17

The answer is much simpler. There are a lot of anti-mainstream contrarians on this site who spend every waking minute regretting that they missed the 80s punk movement, and are desperately grasping at any modern alternative.

If 150,000+ people have to die and tens of millions lose their health insurance for that moral dopamine hit, so be it!

Hazelnut - 2020-07-17

It's perfectly possible that Ashersmack isn't a paid shill, but he's getting all his talking points from their echo chamber

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-18

>>>the point being "something Russia something something"

Something something shut up and read the Mueller Report you ignorant piece of something.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-18

The thing is even if Asstard and Sugarsmacks are right, there's still no practical purpose served by waving their Bernie Boners in our faces all day every day. It's a troll. That's all it is, and it's getting old.

ashtar. - 2020-07-18

The idea that me having a realistic view of Biden will cost him the election is real weird.

ashtar. - 2020-07-18

I may have used this metaphor before, but you all seem like the baby monkey clinging to the wire and wood surrogate mother in the Harlow experiments.

Hazelnut - 2020-07-18

You can’t pity yourself for your “realistic view of Biden” while constantly painting him as worse than Trump, screaming “orange man bad” and telling people not to vote. Maybe if you did just one you could fool people, but all at once it’s just silly.

Crackersmack - 2020-07-18

lol I forgot about the Mueller report, how's that working out for you? Last I heard it was going to trigger criminal charges against Trump, right?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-18

At no time was the Mueller report expected to lead to criminal charges against Trump while Trump was still in office. To understand why, READ THE GODDAMN MUELLER REPORT!

Crackersmack - 2020-07-17

I want to vote for the person that Donald Trump tells me Joe Biden is.

I will not vote for the person that Joe Biden tells me Joe Biden is.

Hazelnut - 2020-07-17

Yeah, check out in http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=176587 for where Crashtar boasts of not voting in Florida, and how well that went.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-18

Joe Biden seems like a nice white male, but he's actually filled with Hispanic women, Muslims, and Jews.

Crackersmack - 2020-07-17

I've voted in every election, even the local referendums, since I turned 18. I just leave options blank if there are no good choices, like I did after Gillum made the infamous DNC pivot to the right.

Hazelnut - 2020-07-17

And now Florida's getting 15,000 cases / day under DeSantis. Makes you think. That's what happens when people don't vote.

Crackersmack - 2020-07-18

Yeah we could have voted for someone like Cuomo...oh wait

SolRo - 2020-07-18

Your super cool voting style has all the effect of an ant impotently cursing at someone from the other side of the planet.

Meerkat - 2020-07-18

There is no "none of the above". Pick your poison. At least choose to cancel out an idiot, whoever that idiot is voting for.

Crackersmack - 2020-07-19

if not voting is impotent then why does it make you so mad Sol?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-19

Sugarsmacks, the answer to "WHY ARE YOU SO ANGRY?" is always "because you're an asshole." Next time you want to ask that question, that will be the answer.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-19

>>>hey buddy I'm just hanging out so I can post a bunch of 10 hour laugh track videos in the hopper on november 4th

Why are people angry? Suck my balls, that's why.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-19

>>>Still clinging to the Russia hoax, even this long after it was disproven? How embarrassing for you.

>>>the point being "something Russia something something"

>>>lol I forgot about the Mueller report, how's that working out for you? Last I heard it was going to trigger criminal charges against Trump, right?

Quotes from Crackersmack. Let me ask everybody in here. How much time would you waste on this sort of deep thinker, if you encountered him the YouTube comments section? On Twitter or YouTube, I automatically block anyone who uses the words "Russia Hoax". Please tell me if you're being ironic, and I'll be very relieved.

I really miss Evil Homer, a much more interesting and honorable troll. Homer had backed Trump during the election, and then he vanished between election day and inauguration day. I presume it just wasn't funny anymore.

Hazelnut - 2020-07-19

Well said.

Crackersmack - 2020-07-19

hey buddy I'm just hanging out so I can post a bunch of 10 hour laugh track videos in the hopper on november 4th

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-19

Sugarsmacks, there was no Russia Hoax. Arguably, a few of the more extreme scenarios were never proven, but nothing was disproven, and what WAS proven goes far beyond Watergate, since Watergate doesn't have a foreign policy component.

Most importantly, there was no witch hunt. The investigation was always justified, and one of the weirdest lies of the Trump cult is that the investigation was always a corrupt vindictive mission to take Trump down, yet it completely exonerated him.

You are either ignorant or trolling. THAT'S JUST A FACT, and it will still be a fact, even if Trump wins all 50 states and you post a 100 hour laugh track video. Reality is not on the ballot. Awe

Seriously, though, Sugarsmacks, are you really that much of an asshole?

Let me say once again, I never voted for Biden, I wouldn't have voted for Biden if the primary hadn't been over by the time it got to New York, and if Bernie had won the primary, I would have been all in for Bernie. But I was never very likely to vote for Bernie in the primary, because the Bernie Bronies were such dicks in 2016. They undermined the democratic candidate, treated her defeat, a personal disaster for countless marginalized people, as personal vindication. I might have managed to put my rage aside, but I would have had to put my rage aside.

Do you think that cruelly mocking Democrats in their darkest moment, Trump's reelection, will help your faction gain ground in 2024? Is this how you hope to make friends and influence people? Because... Sugarsmacks? Honey Bunch? It might not work that way.

These guys have a more realistic view of Biden than about anything else. They don't have a realistic view of Trump, or his corruption, or how his reelection will effect the lives of marginalized people, or of people who need air to breathe. "Obama deported more" is not a realistic view of immigration policy. It may be true, but context matters. Do a goddamn search.

Above all, these guys are not realistic about politics. Making Democrats hate you is not a good plan, and you really shouldn't get so angry and entitled when it doesn't work.

Not gonna proofread. May post errata later on.

exy - 2020-07-20

mildly curious to know the referents of "these guys" - poetv at large? bernie bros? the dnc?

it's probably clear if i read it closer, but not gonna proofread

Crackersmack - 2020-07-20

here's where I would post that picture of Charlie from Always Sunny

ashtar. - 2020-07-20

I did want to point out that I posted this video originally in the spirit of Biden Bro Bernie Bro unity. Like, something we could all laugh at.

Also wanted to point out that if Trump's strategy is to paint Biden as a radical leftist, having radical leftists call him a neoliberal war monger shithead might do more for his election than the DSA endorsing him.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-20

I spend a lot of time trying to manage my crushing existential terror of Trump being reelected, and I'm clearly vulnerable to being trolled on it. I don't care if you think Biden is a war monger shithead, I'm not 100 per cent convinced that he isnt. I was for Warren. This is not a battle that I have chosen.

Today I wanted to kill someone in here. The last time I had this level of vivid homicidal rage over something on the internet was 10 years and 2 months ago, May 2010. The fantasies were different this time. They were a lot more blunt force trauma-based.

When you gleefully predict a Trump victory, that's when I start to feel the weight of the shovel in my hands. I can forgive a Trump supporter, but anything else means that not only my crushing existential terror, but the suffering of millions, is just a game to you.

This is not healthy for me. CLEARLY.

Crackersmack - 2020-07-20

perhaps you'd be more cynical and flippant about it if you knew that you and your family would be considered acceptable collateral damage by either of the two major party candidates

ashtar. - 2020-07-20

What, too, can be more unworthy of the wise man, than that his passions should depend upon the wickedness of others? If so, the great Socrates will no longer be able to return home with the same expression of countenance with which he set out. Moreover, if it be the duty of the wise man to be angry at base deeds, and to be excited and saddened at crimes, then is there nothing more unhappy than the wise man, for all his life will be spent in anger and grief. What moment will there be at which he will not see something deserving of blame? whenever he leaves his house, he will be obliged to walk among men who are criminals, misers, spendthrifts, profligates, and who are happy in being so: he can turn his eyes in no direction without their finding something to shock them. He will faint, if he demands anger from himself as often as reason calls for it. All these thousands who are hurrying to the law courts at break of day, how base are their causes, and how much baser their advocates? One impugns his father's will, when he would have done better to deserve it; another appears as the accuser of his mother; a third comes to inform against a man for committing the very crime of which he himself is yet more notoriously guilty. The judge, too, is chosen to condemn men for doing what he himself has done, and the audience takes the wrong side, led astray by the fine voice of the pleader.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-07-20

Conversely, perhaps you would be less cynical and flippant if someone brought a heavy-duty shovel down on the back of your head. But I digress.

>>>perhaps you'd be more cynical and flippant about it if you knew that you and your family would be considered acceptable collateral damage by either of the two major party candidates

Do you have a source for this, or can you read minds over the internet? Collateral damage in what situation? This kind of claim to absolute secret knowledge reminds me of QAnon, only without the narrative inventiveness, or the intellectual rigor.

What are the stakes here? Do you have an endgame? Why is my cynicism and flippancy important to you?

Not only am I stuck at home these days, my apartment is in an attic, and the only bearable spot up here is within ten feet of the AC. POE is my most valued link to the outside world, and I don't understand why you have decided to use it to torment me.

I don't deserve it. I wasn't for Biden. My chosen candidate also lost, before I even had a chance to vote for her. I can only conclude you that you are so twisted and bitter that instead of wanting to kill you with a shovel, I should pity you.

Okay, I feel better now. I suppose I should thank you for helping me to think it through.

Crackersmack - 2020-07-20

ok you win, that made me feel sad for you, I will no longer interact with you or acknowledge your posts even when you insult me in unrelated threads and mention me apropos of nothing just because you want to be nasty

ashtar. - 2020-07-20

That sucks, John. You're one of the few people it's possible to have an actual discussion with, and you seem like a nice guy.

But, people having divergent political opinions isn't, like, an attack on you personally.

I was being a dick quoting Seneca at you, but it is important to keep in mind that none of us as individuals actually have the power to affect the outcome of the presidential election in any way. We might as well be talking about the weather. Nothing that Crackersmack does or says will have any effect on your life, politically.
