The polls in 2016 were wrong because opinion polls reflected opinions. They didn't predict future behavior. There is no future predicting technology Hilary had it in the bag. People weren't crazy about Hillary. Donald Trump becoming President seemed unimaginable. So people didn't show up.

My hope is that this is all different now. Trump being president doesn't seem so ridiculous now. That should affect turnout.
