Dammit, you beat me to the submit.

Why the hell isn't this movie on DVD?

There's some bullshit with the US rights to the film where the company that has the rights is pretty much defunct but won't sell the rights. There's Japanese and Korean DVDs that have the English dub, but no subtitles

Another from the days when it was the Jap-Animation section and the tapes needed "NOT FOR KIDS!" stickers.
zatojones
They still need them. They just don't have them.

Caminante Nocturno
If anything, the "NOT FOR KIDS" stickers have gotten bigger since those days. Some of the titles not appropriate for kids have giant black-&-yellow warning bars all over the front. It's pretty hard to miss things like that.

Liked this movie a lot. I remember it coming on TBS or some such when I was wee.

Also, I think this ranks as the best title sequence ever.

Caminante Nocturno
I had the soundtrack to this film at one point in my life, back when I was buying most of my anime tapes through the mail and felt like a big shot for doing so. Both the tape of this anime and the soundtrack for it have since vanished, but I can still watch this opening as if I was watching it for the first time.

The high point for me is the guy acting bashful in front of the dancing robot girl before she explodes and kills him.

This isn't anime.. this is "Japanimation."

amirite?

I miss late 80's Japanese cartoons.
