I tried watching this video and got fed up and turned it off. Not because I disagreed with any points made, but the structure and presentation is just as bad as some of the right-wing shit I sometimes see out there.

The music is emotionally manipulative and unnecessary. He keeps jumping from topic to topic, but at least he has well-formed sentences. The visuals are generic and repetitive. It all reminds me of cheaply-made documentaries and I don't like it.

One thing you cannot deny is that this presentation style is effective. The right-wing shit has proven that.

A lot of people are dumb, apathetic or have a short attention span, or a combination of all 3. This style of video can hold their attention to explain things in a simple way and hopefully move the needle.

You know, I don't mind if you don't like my submission, but it chafes my ass a little that apparently you don't like it because it's clear and concise. Now, I never like to rule out the possibility that I'm just an idiot, but I think a whole lot of information presented in a well-organized way is a GOOD thing. If that makes me retarded, somebody let me know so I can sign up for the Special Olympics.

I guess the animation looks like Prager U, but the objectionable thing about Prager U isn't the graphics.

You can make a cheap documentary that is less manipulative than this. I guess I'm used to dry more-academic type presentations, but I honestly think those are better at communicating facts and ideas. This kind of stuff with the scary music is better at communicating feelings, but I'd rather base my feelings on facts and ideas rather than on what the producers want me to feel.
