The difficulty for the other side is to show how arguments against abortion based on potential persons don't apply to not-yet-conceived embryos. It's all academic, though, since abortion opponents are not really interested in this sort of debate.

To relate that to the stem cell thing, incoherence and inconsistency are the defining features of the modern American Right. They don't have principles. They have an out group, and seek power to hurt them. Trump is the man of the moment specifically because, as a narcissist he doesn't use words to convey meaning, he uses them as tools to elicit behavior from others.

They don't give a shit about abortion or using stem cells, and they're not interested in having coherent beliefs, they just say abortion words to discipline women and trigger the libs. Trying to engage them in debate or pointing out hypocrisy is misunderstanding
