Went with a friend to see Dolittle at the Phoenix theater a week before we all started to get locked down. We thought this scene was out of place in the movie, it was a rowdy chase in a cave with many actors and cut to this, like something the studio wanted to be stuck in as comedy for young kids. It was obvious, we were going, huh?

When Dolittle was announced a few years back, it seemed like it was going to be more of a serious telling of the tale, and what led the doctor to leave human practice and work exclusively with animals. There's a tale in that today, when we do character origin stories, but that isn't what we got in Dolittle, instead we got the Muppets.

At least we got Jip, the dog, as a completely drawn character, grey scruff mongrel. I might have liked the Labrador from the musical version in the 1960s, but Jip worked in the scenes at the Queen's.

Boomy

There are so many great stories and so many young filmmakers and so many people who would love to watch what they make.

And Hollywood spends money on this.
