For those wondering "what the heck is this crap?"
In the mid-80s Negativland cancelled plans for a tour when they realized they couldn't afford to do it. As one of their media-target pranks, they issued a press release stating that the FBI asked them not to tour because their song "Christianity is Stupid" on the album "Escape From Noise" was playing in the house the night of the David Brom murders and might have some connection to them. Without actually checking with the FBI or any other authorities, the local news picked it up, and interviewed the band who, of course, went along with it. Eventually it became national with even major music magazines wanting to do articles on it, at which point Negativland admitted to the prank and the whole thing died.
This particular news broadcast was used as the source media for their piece "Helter Stupid", but a lot of people haven't seen the full broadcast.
