Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle, if for no other reason than not having those tedious insult duels. Or maybe Fate of Atlantis, back when new Star Wars/Indiana Jones material was a blessing.

Most overrated Lucasarts adventure game: The Dig. I kept hearing mythical things about it for decades, then finally tried it. A total prick protagonist, horrible puzzles, extreme pixel hunting, ALIEN CLAW GAME.
