It's reasonable to shoot someone to prevent them from stabbing someone else.

There are plenty of egregious examples of police misconduct; this isn't one. I can understand why people would assume the worst of the police here, though.

Warning shots are dangerous to the public (bullets land and ricochet), have questionable effectiveness, and you shouldn't use a deadly weapon for rhetorical purposes.

I wouldn't shoot someone in the leg unless I was prepared to kill them; a femoral artery hit would bleed them out in like a minute, and even a good shooter would miss a leg a fair percentage of the time.

Virtually all law enforcement agencies have policies prohibiting officers from warning shots or deliberate "wounding" shots.

A gun is a deadly weapon. Don't use it unless you have a good reason to kill someone (that is, if someone poses a deadly threat to you or someone else). If you do use it, shoot center mass until the threat is neutralized.

At the very least, firing a warning shot carries less risk to everyone present than FOUR SHOTS AT SOMEONE LOCKED IN A CLOSE SCUFFLE.

Yeah, he was holding an AR and walked right by police and they let him go. Having strict rules but selectively enforcing them is the definition of bias. All the cops on scene should be, at least, fired for dereliction of duty. There is no way anyone that did that could ever be trusted to treat the members of their community equally.
