John Holmes Motherfucker - 2021-08-15
It's been just two months and five days since we got our first look at episode 1 of LOKI, and about 10 days since I got my first look at THE SUICIDE SQUAD, and I've watched that at least seven times. Tonight I got my first look at Black Widow, which is definitely going to make it into my regular MCU rotation. This year we've had Wanda Vision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Zack Snyder's Justice League, which is actually pretty good if you watch it in Black and White.
When I was eight, I dreamed of seeing great superhero movies and was never quite gave up hope, but was mostly dissapointed, for about forty years. Tim Burton's Batman blew me away, but it didn't quite hold up over time, and it was followed by a flood of shitty super hero movies.
I don't quite care for the Christopher Nolan Batman. Actually, I like the Dark Knight, but I've never been able to bring myself to watch the first and final installments of the trilogy more than once. I know I'm the one not giving it a chance, but I just can't. The Night I saw The Dark Knight Rises, I tweeted something about how now Nolan was going to ruin Superman, which was intended to be funny, and I hope it was, because Christopher Nolan retweeted it.
But I love the stuff that's coming out now. And now I'm reading the comic books online. It means a lot to me.
