This anarcho-communist isn't against the US leaving Afghanistan at all. We never should have gone in in the first place.

However, we have a duty to the people whose lives we have shattered. We should let every single Afghan who wants to immigrate into the US in, without preconditions, and with some amount of financial support directly from the feds.

The last few years have been pretty surreal, but seeing the "non partisan" media uniformly attack Joe fucking Biden for ending a war that should have been ended in like 2002, and which obviously had no other outcome, and seeing centrists pile on with "what about the girls (not the ones we bomb at weddings, the other ones)" is up there with the weirdest moments.

Trump made this deal with the taliban because he liked moving troops around like a real president, but he didn't want to start any new wars, because that would involve a whole lot of boring meetings, and reports to read, many as long as five or six pages. So he would pull out troops instead, thank God.

I think this would be a lot worse if Trump was handling it, but that only means so much. I'm a long way from regretting my vote for Biden, but this is happening on Biden's watch, and it's Biden's responsibility.

If there's anything worse than agreeing with Glenn Greenwald, it's agreeing with Greenwald being quoted by Crackersmack.

This was originally a response to 9/11. I have very little faith in any opinion that I have about Afghanistan, but could this mess be what Bin Laden was hoping to provoke? I hope that somewhere, somebody is studying that question.
