Salt. It’s coarse and gets everywhere.

Also algae and other marine buildup.

Technology will not solve our problems. The fundamental problem is endless consumption. Even if we had 100% pollution-free electricity we'd just end up consuming so much that the goddamn heat would be the problem. Stop buying stuff, turn off the goddamn lights, walk and ride your bike or at least ride the bus.

Think heat pollution was predicted as early as 3001; the final odyssey in 1997.

Anyhow the human race cannot think past it’s collective noses and is doomed to extinction.

Kind of hoping for a huge EMP pulse to hit the planet.

The awareness of our reality is finally catching up. It's always been this fucked, it just seems worse now that we're on the precipice.

Isn't it also thought that harnessing tidal power would basically mess up, you know, the surf? The wave-breaking part of a beach is a pretty specialized ecosystem, no? I have a dim memory from long ago about something like that, but maybe I'm confusing it with river hydro doing that to rivers. Tho I suppose the two are quite compatible.

You'd think I'd have watched the video but I'll have my people watch it for me and write up a report for me to forget.

Nah it's because if you take energy out of the tides, it slows down the tides and produces a drag on the moon; and eventually the moon slows down enough to drop out of orbit and crash into the earth.
