What he probably needs is a solid year of psychological assistance and guidance and help for the root antisocial, lack of empathy that he bears, but will he get it? We'll see. Until then, whatever the justice system of his area decides, the end point will be that the roots of this behavior will otherwise still exist in him for his remaining years, whether he goes to jail, just loses his job as you said, or becomes a wife-beater or something.
