Tempted to rent it. The IMDB reviews were pretty mixed (both of them).

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2022-02-22 Adjuvant I don't know what to say. What can I do to help get you into this movie today?
I saw it in 92. It's just a sweet little movie about sex workers being people with families. It's one of those low budget indies with amateur actors. No one bets real dramatic, The conservative german dad learns his daughter is gay. There's some conflict, but he sees Annie Sprinkle and immediately falls head over heels.
BY THE WAY, WHAT A WEIRD EXPRESSION IS HEAD OVER HEELS? I mean, isn't that where your head usually goes?
Annie seems to be poking fun of herself, playing up her new age hippie images. It's pretty funny, on purpose. Looking back, this was the beginning of me identifying as a fan of Annie Sprinkle. The Skuts and Godesses workshop was a couple of years later. There's not lot of drama. The basic plot is a sitcom staple, and the conflict is resolved easily. The family copes, because it is the family. The backdrop of 90s New York Trans, queer, and sex worker communities playing themselves, portrayed as nice ordinary folks, may be the best reason to see this now. There's some philosophical discussion relating to being Trans that I liked at the time, but it's the kind of thing that might have aged badly over 30 years.
I think that if you rent this for five bucks, you won't feel cheated, and if you don't, you won't be regretting it on your deathbed. If you only have five bucks and you're hungry, skip the movie and buy a sandwich.

Adjuvant - 2022-02-22 Thank John. You're really selling it. And I think I probably have enough money to spare for a movie AND a sandwich.
