My theory of George W. Bush is that he was a terrible president, but he's not a really a bad guy. Or maybe that he's a bad guy, but I'm just enough of a bad guy myself to like him. When he dodged those shoes, I admired his casual abplomb. I would have shrieked like a little girl. He wasn't shy about people hearing his comment on Trump's inaugural address. ("That was some weird shit!") and if some homeless guy had offered me Bush's childlike painting of his own foot in the bath for five bucks, I would have taken it home and had that motherfucker framed without ever knowing who had painted it.
