I guess I just think that the only thing that could make this song more perfect would be if the first verse was a little little bit more structured - mainly because at the time that this came out, I was starting to get REALLY obsessed with the hyper-elaborate rhyme schemes of Rakim or even second-album Leaders of the New School.

I agree, but apparently it's blasphemous to say that kinda shit about this kinda song here. jazzy beats with little content -- appeals mainly to non-rap listeners.
