I've never seen this show, but this makes me want to, which means it did its job as a trailer.
It was interesting. The suits were just EQUIPMENT, instead of some holistic bullshit like most of these series. Jungle terrain guerilla fighting tactics applied to giant robots.
The show was kind of like Band of Brothers meets Gundam. This 0083 and 0080 were the best IMO because they portrayed the source material in a more thoughtful and realistic manner. This series in particular did a good job touching upon the ambiguity of factions in a war and the tension during the downtime. Also, using the oil/fluids of the Mobiles Suits as blood was inspired.
I enjoyed how they had mechanical problems with the suits at times, and the delemas with shooting the suits and hitting reactor cores.

I realy miss the realistic mechanical (instead of magical) mecha style anime...tired of all the make-believe shit that is out lately.

seems like that was blood and not oil, or atleast according to the subtitled original, the blue guy stabbed the cockpit area.

It does look a bit redder with higher resolution.

Caminante Nocturno
Hey, everyone. Let's all get pretentious and bitchy about our anime. Doesn't that sound like a good idea? I think it does.
You're just pissed that there wasnt a pre-teen school girl wearing a short skirt in this.

+5 for peter cullen - style voiceover.
Toonami promos made everything cool.
