I've always wanted to get a Vectrex, even if it did only have like twenty-some odd games.

This video only reinforces that desire.

Don't worry about that. The Vectrex has one of the most active homebrew subcultures in the entire world. Almost more games have been made for the Vectrex since its departure than before it, I think. Wikipedia says someone even ported Logo to it just last year. And you could always an emulator first, though those aren't perfect.

I like the subtle digs at Atari's Asteroids. But dang if that sound isn't annoying as all get out.

Ah, Vectrex ... the magical unattainable jewel of my youth. Years later some druggie I roomed with inexplicably had one, and I got to fulfill years of video-game blue balls. It was literally one of a kind.

By the way, minus 2 stars because NO ONE needs to explain at length how to play an asteroids clone, then or now.

OMFG that sound. I had a vectrex. I still have some Hi-8 video of me playing it when I was 11, but it's silent.

Also, Houser is correct about the way too long description of "mine field" ... IT'S FUCKING ASTEROIDS. We know how to play it.
