Why did this and part two bring tears to my eyes?
Spider Jerusalem - 2007-07-31
Because "Rhapsody in Blue" is the greatest musical composition in American history.

It is but it was the animation. It was all the guys from different places and walks of life coming together, realizing their dreams, all to the tune of Gershwin. That's the America slipping through our fingers and it made me wistful for a time I never got to go through.

Any decade but the aughts, man. Any decade but the aughts.

They all had dreams they couldn't obtain, which is still a very identifiable concept even on to today. But they all managed to get theirs in the end, so everything was blissfully happy.

I believe this was in production for close to fifteen years. A couple of Disney animators would work on it intermittently in between other projects.
