Apparently Waters brought Edith Massey to one of Andy Warhol's parties, and Andy asked him, "Where did you FIND HER?!?"
I think her role in 'Polyester' was her best work, personally, though she was wonderful in 'Desperate Living'.

Edith Massey was amazing. She couldn't "act", and yet she was remarkably convincing in all of her roles. I can't explain it.

She had range too - in Female Trouble she is about as different as you can get from her character in Pink Flamingos.

Best line of hers from Female Trouble (considering it followed "Pink Flamingos")---NO I DON'T WANT ANY GOD DAMN EGGS!!!
