Your sissy-slapping technique is flawed.

His Kung Fu was no good

Xiphias - 2007-08-23

Bruce Lee's Wing Chun was much better than this dork's. (I am saying this lest anyone think Wing Chun is inherently flawed.)

Ahriman the Creepy Lurker - 2007-08-23

Agreed. This video is the pussiest display of Wing Chun I have ever seen.

Xiphias - 2007-08-23

the guy has no strength whatsoever, I think. Just look at him.

Ahriman the Creepy Lurker - 2007-08-23

That, plus he's basically only swinging his arms at the guy, and just sort of slapping his sides at that. I've done just a little Wing Chun punching, but what I learned was focused largely on blitzing right down the other guy's centerline and pummeling his face. Honestly, I wouldn't have known this guy was trying to do Wing Chun if the video hadn't been labeled. He's that bad.

Weezly - 2008-04-11

You can flail like a spastic down the centerline all you want, the kyokushin guy actually trains with full contact against non-compliant sparring partners. People who can actually hit hard and withstand being hit hard tends to win fights (unless they get slammed on their head or choked unconscious of course).

Seriously, if you think wing chun is worth anything take a walk down to a boxing or muay thai gym and see just how effective that straight blast is.

Oh and as to "Honestly, I wouldn't have known this guy was trying to do Wing Chun if the video hadn't been labeled. He's that bad." that is the excuse kung fu larpers use every time someone posts a video of a *insert style here* kung fu practitioner getting stomped.

See, that's because in an actual fight all those stupid forms and poses you practice don't magically make the other guy fall down so the kung fu practitioners resorts to flailing, because he can't actually fight. Kung fu training makes you fight worse than a random dude throwing sloppy haymakers because if that guy connects he might actually hurt you a little bit.

TheMarsTravolta - 2011-04-12

Poor Wing Chun, though it should be mentioned that you can't really "compete" with Wing Chun anyway - just like you can't compete with CQC, or other fighting systems. Most Wing Chun strikes are to the eyes, throat, and groin. The kicks are to hyper-extend the knees and smash ankles. You cannot compete with that (nor should you), and any Wing Chun practitioner who tries is at a serious disadvantage to other styles that are intended for competition - by nature of competition, you are handicapped by what you can't reasonably do.

Anyone who thinks Wing Chun, or Kung Fu is comparably weaker to any other martial art, or that a good school's Wing Chun training doesn't include full contact sparing and traning is foolish, uneducated, and blinded by their own preference.

I lost a game of chess once. This proves that bishops are inherently flawed and rooks are superior.

Let me guess, this 'documentary' originates from japan right?...

TinManic - 2007-08-24

well, lets dig up Bruce Lee and put him in the octagon, see how movie kung fu works out.
