Stopheles - 2007-09-18
He did kinda resist arrest, which is never a good idea, but HOLY SHIT was this an overreaction from the security. Could they have done anything to make the whole Skull and Bones thing LESS suspicious?
Stopheles - 2007-09-18 Oops, shoulda written "MORE suspicious."
boner - 2007-09-18
Overreaction? I've seen drunk rednecks on COPS put up less of a struggle than this fag.
KnowFuture - 2007-09-18
He sounds scripted...."HELP, HELP, THEY'RE ARRESTING ME!"
zatojones - 2007-09-18
hehe... "Don't taser me, bro!"
The guy apparently makes it a habit to be a douche in public, so this tasering was probably a long time coming.
Smellvin - 2007-09-18
+5 for "ow ow ow ow ow" tag.
Hooper_X - 2007-09-18
You know, he kind of went about this in the most hilariously wrong way ever.
You ask your dumbass conspiracy nut question, and then let them drag you out. You don't scream, you don't cry, you maybe say "Guess I asked the wrong question!" and that's about it.
That's WAY more fucked up and weird than you gallivanting around the room like a giant queermo trying to evade the po-po. Making yourself look like a giant fucking douchebag completely invalidates any semblance of a point you might have had, at least to the public.
Cube - 2007-09-18 I tried explaining that to a conspiracy-want-to-believer, but apparently it doesn't matter, the US is a nazi police state and the guy was in all his rights to disturb a function by spouting neverending questions and comments without giving anyone the chance to answer.
Roachbud - 2007-09-18
Pretty awesome, I like John Kerry being all smarmy in the background: "Unfortunately he's not available to swear me in as President right now." If only he had run a real campaign and responded to that Swift Boat bullshit, maybe he wouldn't be giving speeches to douchebag college kids.

What?
There wasn't a single black person in the room.

Roachbud - 2007-09-18 University police regularly assinate people in processing
Old_Zircon - 2007-09-18
I do9n't know, all I saw was him asking a question and then being swarmed by security. Asking a question during a Q&A session, dumb or not, is no reason to be kicked out.
zatojones - 2007-09-18 Asking a long, rambling, pointless question about conspiracies without giving the speaker a chance to answer, ignoring a gentle warning to wrap it up, and then trying to squirm away from the police while they're escorting you out is a very good reason to be kicked out. And then tasered. Bro.

The number of five stars here explains why POENews sucks. LOL brutality is great when it serves my personal agenda FART

Roachbud - 2007-09-18 Seriously? That kid was struggling with the police for a while before they pulled out the taser. Police have to be more on edge when a US Senator is around too, it's those kinds of nutjobs who kill them. This is all coming from someone who has experienced "police brutality" first hand (technically he didn't beat me, because I would have owned his petite ass, but he did arrest me for no reason).
Hooper_X - 2007-09-18 You wrote the fucking All Your Base song. You are the living embodiment of one-star-ness.
IrishWhiskey - 2007-09-18
He wasn't escorted off for the question or for being a "young patriot", but for being a rambling crazy person who refused to relinquish the mike. Police did overreact, but there have been much more dramatic examples than that (tazered 86 year old grannies and preschool kids for example).
IrishWhiskey - 2007-09-18 Just to be clear, I'm one starring it because I think the protester is a bit of a twat, who is being made out as a hero. If you are rating it up just because you like seeing him tazered, more power to you.

Just a douche daring to disturb the universe. And he did.
Blaise - 2007-09-18
How dare he ask a rambling question about something interesting.
He should have asked a short sound-bite question copied from the hundreds of questions asked everyday by the talking heads on T.V.
Better yet he should have stayed home watching YouTube asking no questions at all.
What an idiot.
C. Eloi Marx - 2007-09-18 Actually, Tim Russert on Meet the Press asked both Kerry and Bush whether they were Bonesmen ; both ducked the question.
Blaise - 2007-09-18 Yeah, and my dog smiled once when I told a joke.
Doesn't mean he's got a sense of humor.
Nor does it mean I tell good jokes.
I do though ...
really...
Did you hear the one about the Freedom Fries?
Adramelech - 2007-09-18
There's no reason to grab a guy and carry him out of the room because he asked John Kerry about Skull & Bones. Although it's technically in the network of secret societies, it's been thoroughly discussed in the media and both Kerry and Bush have talked about it on Meet The Press. This barely qualifies as "conspiracy" and behaviour like this over something so innocuous only heightens suspicions.
The fact that people in general don't seem to care much about this information and would rather laugh in a dude's face as he gets tasered is worth five stars.
IrishWhiskey - 2007-09-18 Well if they were wearing a t-shirt and nothing else at a Bush rally, they deserved to be arrested for indecent exposure (yes, I know what you meant).
Adramelech - 2007-09-18 Allow me to rephrase. There's no reason to "escort" a guy out of a room because he asked John Kerry a question about Skull & Bones and doing so only makes it look creepier than that Faustian laugh Kerry gave Russert when asked the same question.
halon - 2007-09-19 It's neat how much you can learn about other posters from their comments. For example, SolRo is so incomprehensibly fat that he has never once moved his upper body when entering an animated discussion, and likens the heroic effort required to do so to "jumping around like a jackass".
Alektorophobic - 2007-09-19 Just to clarify, he wasn't "escorted" for asking a question. He was "escorted" for repeatedly asking questions after being told to relinquish the microphone. His question was answered, and he asked more, and more, and appeared to get more aggressive/agitated as he went on. When he repeatedly refused to give up the mic, they arrested him for causing a disturbance, but he decided he didn't want to go quietly, which is very dumb.
theFlu - 2007-09-18
Sure he's a shit-starter and a total fucktard, but what the campus police did to him was unjustified and brutal -- it's every citizen's right to resist unlawful, unjustified detention - and to hold public figures accountable.
Lastly, as a side-note: Kerry WAS in Skull and Bones with Bush, which means they're still bound together by ritual. I find that alarming, as Kerry was once Bush's opposition...
FABIO2 - 2007-10-12 "Right to resist unlawful detention" comes after your arrest and by going through the legal system, not physically struggling with officers during your arrest.
douche

So much drama over an old rich boy's Yale frat club.
Ryo-Cokey - 2007-09-18
I request anyone that whines about taser usage should instead get to opt for the old-fashioned truncheon method instead.
IrishWhiskey - 2007-09-18 Thats fair enough. As long as I get to taser anyone suggesting its no big deal.
Modern Angel - 2007-09-18 HAHAHA! Libertarians sure do love police brutality!
Ryo-Cokey - 2007-09-19 Frankly, I just love tasers.
Xenocide - 2007-09-18
He was obviously being led away for being a dick, not for asking about Skull and Bones. Kerry's membership in that organization has been public knowledge since before the election. No one cared then, no one cares now.
So yeah, any tiny amount of sympathy I may have had for this faggot was quickly squelched by his over dramatized screams of righteous anguish. This guy was begging to get tazed. No, seriously: you can tell he was goading them into doing it so he could play martyr in front of everyone. Fucker was probably envisioning himself as a modern-day Ghandi or something as he was dragged out of the room.
Best part was how most of the room cheered and laughed as he was being arrested. This is probably not the first time this dumbass has started shit on campus.
zatojones - 2007-09-18 It wasn't. He's also known for a stunt he pulled where, on the day of the release of that last Harry Potter book, he video taped himself holding a sign at a busy intersection that gave away the end of the story. In other words he's an attention starved asshole who probably deserved much worse than a taser long before this incident.
Xenocide - 2007-09-18 Wait...is he the guy from the Fox News "HACKERS GANGS ON STERIODS" video?
FABIO2 - 2007-10-12 I bet he was part of the campus juggling club too.

Look, supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical secret society. Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system! Come see the violence inherent in the system! Help, help, I'm being repressed! Oh, what a giveaway. Did you hear that? Did you hear that? That's what I'm all about. Did you see him repressing me?

Libertarians, Republicans, and Conservatives are the cancer that is ruining poe. Also, I would love to see a "Punk'd" version of this where Kerry agrees to be asked questions by conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones and David Icke which only results in said theorists being tazed til they shit themselves. And then Kerry would chuckle.
Also also, Ersatz gets the prize for being the most astute about the whole thing.
revdrew - 2007-09-18
Tough call. The guy is an obviously douchey conspiracy nut, and laughing at his futile attempts to resist arrest and gain sympathy brought me much joy. However, I still don't see any good reason for him being escorted out in the first place.

I don't understand the differing reactions between this and "UCLA Taser an Iranian-American 5 times for Forgetting His ID." http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=8660
EvilHomer - 2007-09-18 1- A year or so of desensitization.
2- White kid vs Iranian kid.
3- Library boy got tasered for a simple mistake, Skull and Bones kid got tasered for being a loudmouthed faggot.
Hooper_X - 2007-09-18 Mainly the difference between "intentionally being a tool" and "forgetting your fucking library card."
Ryo-Cokey - 2007-11-16 They were both complete tools, the UCLA video was a bit more sensational because the police were so obviously over the line.

I'm fiving just because it's interesting.

RockBolt - 2007-09-18
Our campus police are models of spiteful hateful "god I wish I was a real cop" douchebags that overreact at the slightest parking infraction to compensate for their failed dreams. I'm not surprised that this isn't a terribly uncommon profile.
halon - 2007-09-19
Wow, it sure is a good thing the police fucking dragged him away from the mic and tasered him for asking a goddamn question. When asking "why am I being arrested", I am fairly certain the police are required to answer the question, not to tase you. Fuck every one of you disgusting bootlickers that support what happened to this kid.

5 stars for all the fine human beings in this clip, taserers and taseree alike, + a whole galaxy for "Don't taser me bro!" and Kerry trying to answer the question.
Really you'd think that security at a university would be used to loud mouthed twats like this guy, but maybe they just couldn't resist the temptation to put the boot in even though he was flat on the floor and hugely outnumbered.
Westward - 2007-09-19
All politics aside, if I am holding or are otherwise in the ownserwhip of a taser, and I hear the words "Don't tase me, bro," the source of that sentence is immediatly getting tased. These are the rules.
Fezren - 2007-09-19
This video is obviously edited from a biased perspective.
Notice that the clip does not start when the young man starts asking questions. You don't actually get to see why the security tried to escort him from the building. Notice that when the clip starts, there is already security all over this guy.
Maybe it is a good idea to find out what happened before they tried to escort the young man from the building before you start crying about police brutality. I'd be willing to bet money that the security had every right to escort the man out, and if he didn't want to be tazered, he should have just left.

Spastic Avenger - 2007-09-27
Regardless of his douchebaggery:
1: john kerry was trying to answer. The police interrupted John Kerry by not letting him answer.
2: Tasers, at least in the UK, are meant as a replacement for guns. imagine if the officers busted caps in the kid. What would you think then.
3: you can't just taser someone for being annoying.
