The song's called What Planet is This, and it is awesome.
I forgot that basically everything involving Cowboy Bebop was/is perfect.
The movie isn't as good as the series but this part is really great
I really wish the movie would have developed the characters more instead of being a stand alone thing, but it certainly excels in the awesome fighting and martial arts badassery department.
I wish all anime was this awesome.
See you, space cowboy.
A great sequence and frankly the music was incredible. I may not have enjoyed everything Yoko Kanno has done but she and the talent she collaborates with produce great music, period. Not just "good for an anime soundtrack" music. Though she's one of the standout composers in an ocean of keyboard plinkings passed off as background music, shrill and inane J-pop stylings and pathetic attempts at "hard rock" theme songs.
yeah, agreed, and although Wolfs Rain was a disappointment in the end, her work for the series was very good.

I don't watch anime, basically Akira and that's it, I'm just not interested.
But every clip of this "Cowboy Bebop" I watch on POETV leads me to believe that it might be the best thing ever.

This and exploding pumpkins all in one movie. Is it true that they had to make this a seperate movie because of the similarity to 911 terrorist blowing up buildings storyline?
I don't think so. One of the episodes in the show features a bomber blowing two buildings that look exactly like the WTC. The movie did have to wait awhile before being released in the States though.
P-38 Lightning? Check.
I should probably try and see this movie sometime.
More of this, less crap with cards and princess, okay?
