And after all that, he decides he wants lunch instead.
I really like this movie, but it wasn't as good as it could be. Thanks to Michael Douglas, it wasn't as bad as it could have been either. His acting saves this uneven movie from being ridiculously cheesy, overwrought, and barely strung together. If this had been directed differently, it could have been a great movie.
It just can't decide whether it wants to be a comedy or a drama, and it doesn't mix them very well. I think the bazooka/neighborhood kids scene is where it jumped the shark. Still, it was enjoyable, and Douglas's portrayal of the character holds it together (barely).

Tom Collins - 2011-02-18 It's genius. Overwrought, angst filled, self referential 90s genius.

I like how he's basically just doing a stand-up comedy routine, with a gun.

I like this movie but I relate more to the poor girl trying not to get in trouble at her shitty and spirit-crushing job than the middle-aged man who is angry that he cannot have pancakes

I think it's important to remind everyone that this is not a good idea to try out.
