Kinda hard to concentrate on playing when everyone in the band knows that on any given "JUMP" Eddie Van Halen's plastic hip could shatter (+5).
Also - "Jump" sucks even when it is played correctly (-1).

I was at this show, not too far from where this video was shot. Allegedly, Eddie was ALREADY back to drinking by this show (and this was only the second date of the tour). The problem is that Eddie has his guitar tuned down a half step and for some reason cannot figure out how to transpose up a half step... you know, something that anyone who has been playing guitar for more than a few years should be able to work out, to say nothing of someone who is supposed to be an UBER GUITAR GOD. Other than this debacle, this show fucking rocked, though. And no, Wolfgang doesn't have much in the way of stage presence but he is a much better bass player than Michael Anthony. That's not saying a whole lot, but still...

hammsangwich Sounds like the real problem is he was too wasted to get ask his guitar tech to bring him a guitar with the correct tuning.
