I know people ragged on this game for not being Syndicate, but I had a good time with it. Blowing up buildings with nuclear hand grenades was pretty rad.

I always liked quotes The Church of the New Epoch got in the debriefings:

A war refugee sought the Master. He said, "You are wise and serene. Teach me to escape the horrors of this world." And the Master blinded him with fire-irons.

I loved this game

This is one of those games that came out around the jump from Dos to Windows 95 that sort of got caught in the middle, like Ultima 7 and Strike Commander---like, the system requirements called for a computer that could run Win95, but the games themselves only ran under Dos.

I could never get this game to work right, and right now was actually the first time I ever got to see the intro.

i think you can get it off abandonware sites now; I know you can find the first syndicate, which I suppose is still the superior product. The game that finally forced me get Windows 95 was "Heroes of Might and Magic."

I miss DOS.

DOS was great. the formative games of my youth were on DOS, and my folks couldn't figure out how to use it, so i got away with playing all kinds of shit they didn't approve of. that is, until one dark day, i played zork nemesis, saw something about custom win95 cut scenes, begged them to upgrade and DOS was officially dead. all for a few extra walking transitional movies.

oh, yeah, the video. umm, well, i never got a chance to play either this or the original syndicate, although i tried with abandonware. never worked right, so three star neutral vote.

For those of you who don't know, there is this great app called DOSbox that emulates DOS almost perfectly.

http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/

Only prob is, you need a decent computer to run newer games, for instance System Shock has some slowdowns on my 2.4 P4

You can tweak dosbox pretty aggressively... The default settings are only good for the oldest games.

Boring. The original Syndicate was vastly superior.

Wow. I had no idea I'd heard that theme music quite so many times.

The Playstation intro was different, IIRC. All space-cars flying around.
