This happened in 2000 I believe. A capacitor bank at that substation faulted and was not able to be switched out because the protection systems were inoperable. The explosion there was caused by the rupturing of the transformer's oil-based forced-cooling system.
This shit would definitely not fly in the post-NE-blackout world. FPL would be fined more millions than you can count.
I assume that highschool electronics class didn't tell me that electricity could explode because they thought I would be irresponsible with that knowledge.
