Iraq is pretty much like Ron Paul's libertopia.
1: virtually unrestricted firearm ownership, armed populace
2: active civilian militia
3: no real tax collection
4: several competing "governments". It's pretty compelling if you think about it

US economy is already destroyed. Bombs and bullets don't appreciate in value. In fact, I would say their value will tank 100% of the time and take some other thing of value with them. "Why We Fight" is a well done film to watch.
