That is true. Let's also not forget that the PGU-14/B round incorporates a depleted uranium penetrator.

It does technically slow the plane down but as the gun is most often if not always fired in a dive the effect on the aircraft's speed is typically negligible.

I head a pilot say that you can definitely feel it shove back on the aircraft though, even if it doesn't stall it.
