One of the most breathtaking movies I have ever seen. The cinematography was about 50 years ahead of its time. The monumental scale of the film is just mindboggling: The original 1927 cut is over six hours long and yet the film only covers the ascendancy of Napoleon - his later military campaigns are completely left out!

this is so fucking good it almost hurts to watch.
