oh my god

why is he always smiling? does he realize he's not playing a video game?
Roachbud
Bush never picked up a video game in his life, they didn't exist when he was young and he was too busy raw-dogging bitches and smoking blunts to play them anyways.

This gets five stars for the awkward editing such as the weather man who pops in for a second or two in the middle of clip 2.

Cinnamon Imperialist
They do say he likes a good game of Solitaire every now and then, though.

5 stars for the alread-brewing fagdance

His strawman arguments never cease to infuriate me. In the beginning, defending his veto of the waterboarding ban, he says "I recognize some people say 'These little ter'rists arent really a threat to the United States anymore.' I fully disagree!"

NO! God damn it, that is NOT the fucking issue, and no real person is making this statement. The issue is that waterboarding is horrific, and you won't even own up to the idea of "I support doing bad things to bad people." Which would at least be something.

Five stars for hyperventilating rage.
Billy Buttsex
CitrusMirakel supports talking to terrorists nicely.

Come on, you guys... if "screwing us over until the bitter end" means "screwing over bad guys who want to kill us and not jumping at the chance to help backward countries that don't wanna subscribe to Christian ideals," then yes he is, and yes I support him.

Roachbud
Buttsex, waterboarding is from the goddamn Spanish Inquisition, it's barbaric to it's core. Torture doesn't get good information anyways because people will say anything to make it stop.

Plus this isn't a conflict about "Christian" vs "Muslim." If the terrorists do hate "our freedom" like Bush says, that freedom came from the Enlightenment and was first espoused by people who had abandoned traditional views on god in favor of Deism, which is the belief that he's there, but could give a shit. The ideals this country stands on were founded by people who started turning away from old "Christian" ideas such as the Divine Right of Kings, the notion that the downtrodden should wait for the afterlife, that unbelievers must die and women should make pie.

There's plenty of Muslims that have made that leap too, but the schism is much more recent in the Islamic world, so there are still atavistic douchebags like Osama bin Laden.

Quad9Damage
What really gets me is that the administration is whitewashing these horrible things by describing them with flowery language. It's not drowning, it's "waterboarding!" Kinda like surfing, cowabunga! And it's not 'torture', it's "advanced interrogation tactics!"

I wouldn't be surprised if the next thing they came up with was "in-touch familiar communication", where they drag in the subject's family members and friends and slowly dismember them in front of the subject until he talks.

StanleyPain
Why are you feeding the obvious troll.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit
"Some may argue that we would be more effective if we sanctioned torture or other expedient methods to obtain information from the enemy. They would be wrong. Beyond the basic fact that such actions are illegal, history shows that they also are frequently neither useful nor necessary." --General David Petraeus

The Great Hippo
I'm sorry, but this government was not founded on Christian doctrine. I know--it says 'In God We Trust' on all our currency--but honestly, most of that was just a ploy to get certain people (HI BILLY) to shut the fuck up and let 'daddy' run the country.

This isn't even me being anti-Christian or whatever is popular with the kids today; this is just me stroking my history beard and reading a lot of stuff.

Billy Buttsex
Hey Hippo: PUT DOWN THE HOWARD ZINN. It's possible for cultured people with power and intelligence to firmly believe in Christian ideals.

Billy Buttsex
By the way, Mr Hippo, I don't completely disregard your history beard or the stroking thereof, but I'm REALLY skeptical about all this revisionist commie literature that's been going around, so if you'd like to point me in the direction of the books you've read, I'd be more than happy to research the authors and make sure they're not "Obama approved." It's not you I disrespect, but rather the stuff that's been passing around in colleges lately.

The Great Hippo
"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion..."

What's that? Another communist tract? Wait, no--it's an excerpt the Treaty of Tripoli, passed and ratified unanimously by the pinko-commie American Senate of 1797 and signed by John "WORKERS-UNITE" Adams himself! No doubt they were all taking their voting orders from a time-traveling Stalin.

And while we're outing all the treacherous "Obama-ites" (or should I say OSAMA-ites? amirite, guyz?), we might want to take a hard look at Thomas "I-HATE-AMERICA" Jefferson and his infamous letter to the Danbury Baptist Association, where he basically says "keep church and state seperate, LOL" (and then runs off to steal bread from happy white Christian homes and give it those sinister blacks and jews), or just read anything Benjamin "A-Penny-Saved-Is-A-Penny-BURNED" Franklin EVER said concerning religion mixing with government.

The Great Hippo
Oh, wait. You were expecting me to fork over the titles to revisionist history books written by authors who take their marching orders from Marx, weren't you? I'm sorry--I forgot, the religious right hates it when you point out that some of the historical figures they worship actually are on record for saying that the religious right are a bunch of twits and we need to keep them the hell away from important government positions.

Next time, I'll be sure to just copy-paste the latest socialist tirade from my copy of "WHITE-CHRISTIAN-BABY-KILLERS" monthly.

Billy Buttsex
I'll research this... thanks for the info. Still skeptical, but I'm just not willing to admit (yet) that they were anti-Christs or completely opposed to Christian influence. I'm not disregarding what you're saying, I wanna see what all the other founding fathers had to say too. I mean, three guys aren't everyone, and I'm curious to see how everyone else was. Thank you for that insight, though. That "time-travelling Stalin" line killed me :)

The Great Hippo
You're going to find that most of our founding fathers were not anti-Christian. They just weren't interested in creating a government based on Christian doctrine.

I was raised a Protestant. I've read the Bible. I even believed in God up until I started studying genocide. You won't find a Christian-hating bone in my body--but the idea that this country was founded on Christian doctrine is just absurd. Freedom of religion, expression, and the right to one's own personal property are NOT Christian values. They're products of the Enlightenment.

I'm such a fucking asshole about this because we've replaced our real history with the magical story of how the virginal Betsy Ross was visited in a manger by Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin right after giving birth to Abraham Lincoln who would die for our sins of slavery on the cross.

This religious romanticization of history is how you control people. But the crazy part is that George Bush and other religious right-wing politicians aren't TRYING to control us; they've fallen for their own bullshit. They really DO think that the government is a religious institution. This scares me to fucking death because, no shit here, that REALLY IS just two steps away from women in veils and making booze illegal.

It's easy for us to laugh it off and say "Not here!"--Americans have grown so used to their luxuries of personal freedom that they've forgotten just how easy it is, historically, to take them away.

Sorry for all the spammy BS, folks. I'm done. Honest.

Q: "Is enough being done [in Darfur] by your administration to stop it."
A: "I think we are, yeah."

"Who wants to join an ideology that says women don't have rights, you can't express yourself freely, the only religious belief you can express is the one we tell you...?"

FUNNY FACT: Billy Buttsex voted for Nader in 2004.

Word has it he's still embarassed about it to this very day.

The Great Hippo
Okay, there seems to be a lot of confusion among certain crazy fear-mongering conservatives regarding who loves America more, so I'm going to make this real simple:

Think of America as a woman you love. If your love is shallow, you'll pander to her affections and never tell her when she's doing anything wrong. But if you *really* love her, when she fucks up, you're going to tell her--if she asks you "Does this administration and its flagrant disregard for the constitution make me look fat?", you're gonna say "Hell yes, bitch!".

And then you're gonna slap her on the ass and drag her off to the bedroom, because DAMN, she's a wildcat in bed!

Reporter - Mr. President, how many people do you expect to pardon before your term expires?

President George - Look, I know a lot of people think terrorists just want to hold our hand and sing Kumbiya. But let me tell you something, I will do everything within the law I can to skirt any law that prevents my staff from protecting America.

"Mr President, why are you in favor of waterboarding and massive warrantless wiretapping programs of US citizens?"

"Listen, I know some people think terrorists aren't bad guys, and we shouldn't listen in on their phone calls in the US, but I disagree."

5 stars for the brain-melting, blood-boiling, eye-gouging rage this exchange induced.
TrafficCone
So Bush thinks US citizens are the terrorists?
Ah, I get it now.

Rodents of Unusual Size
I just want to say it makes me angry that waterboarding is the only torture issue. A lot of enlisted men have been told to basically go way past the Geneva Convention. Electrocution, flogging, severe beating, starving, these are all occurring, but waterboarding seems to be the only thing the media really jumped on as "really bad".
Hooper_X
Because it's the only one their reporters are willing to try on-air for ratings.

takewithfood
"Take Guantanamo, look, I'd like it to be empty. On the other hand, there are some people there who need to be tried. And there will be a trial. And they'll have their day in court - unlike what they did to other people."

Does.. does he know what trials are for?
StanleyPain
Fair trial? Guess he hasn't been reading the papers.

takewithfood
He just sits there with a grin on his face, saying that people will get a fair trial, and then talks about them as though they're already convicted terrorists IN THE SAME SENTENCE.

My only comfort is knowing that the reason he makes so little sense is that 95% of his brainpower is constantly directed towards thinking "one more year and I can buy a baseball team like I always wanted.. one more year and I can buy a baseball team like I always wanted.. one more year.."
