I do like this, but I can't give the full five because of the bookends.
The bookends are nearly as long as the show segment itself, making them worth close to 50% of the score.

Me neither. The bookends must be accounted for! Justice.

Suddenly it's a Robert Bresson movie.

I want more non-narrated Wonder Years examples, less someone explaining the joke.

its like garfield, without garfield.
It's more like garfield without the thought bubbles, which was done first and is much funnier.
first part is true, but the second one is not.
Garfield - Garfield = pure ocmedy bliss.
oops, I mispelled comedy.

Almost David Lynchian.
Imagine being actors on this show, just staring at each other, knowing that somewhere, a disembodied voice will be doing the acting for you.

If you mute it and don't hear the dude's quimby ass voice, it's a lot better. Of course, the show takes place during a different time. Maybe people had different time tables for conversations.

I remember liking this show because I felt that I had no choice in the matter.
