Her famous video is here: http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=25882

This was very clever.. a cat is the opposite of autistic, and clearly violates personal space. She subtitles it because she's reaching out to hearing impared individuals.

Describing a therimin to a deaf person seems rather pointless to me, but I'm not autistic. "It makes noise if you get close" will do.

that cat has no idea

Is "autistist" (a) the P.C. term for a person with autism, (b) the name for someone practiced in the art of autistry or (c) a word George W. Bush made up?

RomancingTrain - 2008-04-09

Merely a typo, it should be "Autistest," the most autistic person.

She's genuinely autistic, and proud to be so, and is not a faker. It just feels right. She's the real deal. Makes Rainman look like a tard.

Kinda like how Ullillillia is a genuine Aspergers, and you want to set him apart from all the fake assburgers not for laffs, but because he's seriously awesome and rises above his condition.

athodyd - 2008-04-09

I guess I'm not autistic enough because to me this just seems like a really great way to screw with a cat.

What is this? I don't know. I'm familiar with all the elements, but, I mean, just, what?

On the other hand, I bet toddler-dogs would freak out at this thing if the speakers were close enough to the theramin.

Syd Midnight - 2008-04-09

I think the theremin input wasn't being output, because that would freak out the cat.

She was just demonstrating how one can violate an autists personal space without realizing the gravity of it, using her cat and theremin as an example.

And she's genuinely "will sit in a room and rock and starve to death" autistic, not "internet I'm so awkward and antisocial". She's wicked cool and witty for a mute rockin' basket case.

I like how she cannot speak a word, but can meow a bit to communicate with her cat. You don't need much vocabulary to talk to a cat.

waxeater - 2008-04-09

So are you going to make out with her or what dude?

petep - 2008-04-10

dude that cat is fucking radioactive
