I'm not sure the author/submitter knows how a television set works.
You have very little time (often under a minute) during a commercial break for the crew to rush up, touch up, discuss upcoming bits, and before your little time limit is up everyone has to be done and completely gone off camera. It's like a NASCAR pit crew replacing a tire.
There is also zero dignity for any of the crew. They are all there to wait on the talent. I wouldn't be surprised if he asked if there was anything he could clean his glasses with, and the insanely busy woman told him to just wipe it on her jacket because they're coming back in 15 seconds and don't have time to send a runner for a tissue.
