I haven't seen it, so I'm not going to rate. But the script seems to just be another overly mannered "True Romance" style dialog. Is this a bad scene to judge the movie by?
You've got it. It's only through people trying to rip off Tarantino that you realize how good he really is, and how hard it is to pull that kind of thing off.
I guess this one's better than The Boondock Saints, but not by much.
This movie is great, but Boondock Saints is terrible, so I agree with your concept of movies that knock off Tarantino blowing, but disagree with the application of the concept.
Oh, and just because people try to imitate him doesn't mean Tarantino is great.
Shane Black writes funny dialogues, QT rips off dialogue from other movies, and the stuff he writes is idiotic empty pop culture references, like Madonna songs and quoting cereal commercials.
