Come for the shitty video, stay for the comments.
Guitar Hero is doing a great service by weeding out everyone not really serious about learning guitar. That's less of those annoying fucks who learn a couple of chords, half a song, and carry around their guitars to parties trying to impress girls before John Belushi rightfully smashes it all over the place.
That half a song- "Time of your Life" by green day.

wrong, it's "Wonderwall" by Oasis.

there have been studies.

No one has ever played Guitar Hero in place of a real guitar, ever.

All you need is the first 2 chords of "More than Words" by Mr. Big. If the chicks aren't all over you by then, you're playing it wrong.

Herr Matthias
More Than Words was by Extreme

Close enough.

in other news, "Deep inside I hope YOU FEEL IT TOO"

Really makes you think...
But.. but I can push buttons in time with the music! I MUST be able to play guitar!
Are there seriously douchebags out there who think that Guitar Hero is the APOCALYPSE of real guitar players? Jesus....that's a new depth of loser I am now aware of.

You must admit that the logic is inescapable. Why would anyone learn to play guitar when they can press buttons for POINTS?!

You figure 30 years would be enough time for people to understand what a videogame is, but no.

Because of Grand Theft Auto there are no more criminals.

Is it so bad that there won't be thousands of new shitty songs every year?
Yeah, I think that Guitar Hero putting a moratorium on new guitar players putting out shitty songs, even if just for a couple of years, is plainly the best outcome we could ever possibly hope for from a video game.

As jaded as I get, as many relationships or marriages that will ever fall through in life, as much bitterness as I ever carry for the entire concept of "love"...

The hilarious extent as to how certain people just DONT GET THINGS will always put a smile on my face.

Carry on, my wayward son.
Doctor Arcane
I got guitar hero. And to my surprise, actual guitar playing skills didn't carry over. So then I started practicing guitar hero... and suddenly came to the realization, WTF am I doing.
This guy spent that much time making a crappy Flash animation instead of practicing his guitar. WHAT A WASTE.
Obviously he wasn't even animating, he was playing Animator Hero

aka Flash

I play bass, some guitar, AND Guitar Hero. Am I the exception?

I find it's a fun way to keep my fingers nimble when I don't feel like sitting alone in front of my amp tuning my bass up and down to play along with mp3s. Of course when I can afford another bass I wont have to bother with all that silly tuning so much as I'll just keep one tuned to the drop C the kids are so fond of these days.

5 stars for whiny guitarists.
Nope. You aren't the only one.

Slash has admitted he can not beat any song on Guitar Hero past medium difficulty (in an interview before the Indy 500 this year). Clearly Slash needs to learn to play guitar better.
Have people lost the ability to differentiate between a video game and a real life? Do guitar players truly have so much trouble grasping that some people want to play a game, and not learn to play an instrument?

Besides, playing a game tends to be a great social experience that multiple people can actively participate in without any specialized training or prior experience. Something guitar playing has not yet been able to accomplish (remember, keywords here are "actively participate" and "with no prior experience or training" . . . just to silence the nitpickers).

Just to clarify: I'm not saying anything about Guitar Hero. I just love how shitty this video is and how some people take a goddamn video game so seriously.

Yeah, well. I think most people realize that playing a videogame is almost never like the real thing. I don't really understand this guy's argument.

Guitar Hero is fun. End of discussion.

speak for yourself, I cranked on a real hedgehog just this morning!

Guitar hero is a game.
Guitars are guitars.

Why must people confuse the two, or try to equate them?

I tried learning guitar, goddamnit. I really did. Had a tutor and everything. The frets hurt my fingers on a real guitar, and I can't pick one string without hitting all six, so fuck it.

This was done by someone whose parents refused to buy him the game, so he's lashing out at his disappointment with the YouTube equivalent of "FINE! I DIDN'T WANT YOUR STUPID GAME ANYWAY!"

that video doesnt make any sence! Guitar Hero
was made to be a video game simmelar to a guitar and your video says ''guitar hero sucks'' shows a bunch of random people with a guitar hero guitar over and over again. the person with the guitar seems happy and the real guitar is just sitting there. get a fucking life dork!

so you probably love guitar hero than? Loser.
The guitar is sitting there to show the idiot stupidly thinking he can play real guitar and the regular guitar is just there because the kid is retarded.
