The sequel so far outsurpassed the original in every way, and was really the entry point to the 1990s. Adult Swim humor wouldn't be possible without this movie and Addams Family Values.
Hated this movie the first time I saw it as a kid, but I revisited it many, many years later and I was glad I did. Great movie.

The New York, New York scene has been happily DVR'd on my digital box for a long time, and is always a good pick me up when I am feeling depressed.
I'd forgotten about this scene. I think that was the point where the audience realizes that this movie isn't meant to be taken seriously.

I suppose if you went into this expecting a straight sequel to the first Gremlins movie, you may have been disappointed enough not to see how awesome a movie this is.
See my comment. But I was a kid, so I feel like I'm excused.
Also, nothing beats the elevator scene in this movie. I crack up every single time.
Apparently, this review is almost identical to the one Leonard Maltin actually gave gremlins when it first came out. Thanks to leo for being such a good sport!

This is one my earliest movie-going memories. I was in a theater in Mexico and the movie fell under technical difficulties at exactly this scene.
The irony was completely lost on me at the time.
5 stars automatically for Gremlins 2, 5 more stars for Faith No More at the end
God damn it, the possessive of the third-person pronoun is "its," not "it's!" The latter is a contraction of "It is."
I knew some grammar fag would jump on that. Go fuck yourself with a semi up your colon.
Don't hate me because I passed the sixth grade.
How could you not love Gremlins?
Due to the end of civilization, Clamp TV will now end its broadcast day.
We hope you have enjoyed our fine programming.
But more than that, we hope you have enjoyed...LIFE.
I love this flick.
