I admit it's been awhile since I read the story, but uh.....this sure doesn't seem to match up with my recollections at all.
It looks like softcore porn on Showtime without the porn
i'm starting to think that lovecraft will never be properly turned into cinema, with the possible exception of the lovecraft historical societies stuff.
Ouch. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow.

Looks like a "local boy impresses no one with his student film!" feature subject that would run in some backwater newspaper

The way it's filmed makes it look like a daytime soap. What I hate most about it is it perfectly illustrates the trend that film students go for that makes their horror ultimately laughable and that is attempting special effects. They don't enhance the story, and a film is scarier when you have the element of the unknown. Add a bunch of CGI moving clouds or purple rays shooting out of someone's hands and you have the makings of a great LARP battle to share amongst friends. If they left that shit out and just utilized what they had, they could have done something with it. Sam Raimi made Evil Dead with practically nothing. If they would tone down the film and make is less complicated than they are attempting here, it wouldn't be as bad.

I think the funniest thing about the trailer is the idea that Lovecraft deserves a better adaptation than this.
Wonderful. I hope future generations see it as the comedic genius it truly is.
How the hell did they take pages and pages of exposition that describes everything as 'indescribable' and make it LESS exciting?
Goethe and ernie
I distinctly remember being certain that Asenath Waite was fuckable. They've got this all wrong.
