"Godlike" is a laying it on a little thick. They are cool, though.

Damnit PoETV, get the fuck out of my head! I only have to look at something and it turns up here!
Triops Cancriformis is more interesting though (and it's the UK's native species).

Although the music made me think there was going to be some kind of underwater six-gun showdown by the middle of the video.
They do kinda look like Lee Van Cleef when you think about it... Or maybe it's just me.

Ok... but what do they taste like?

TENS OF EGGS
+5 for the music alone.

Sargassum, the weed of deceit. Triops - mighty hunter of the deep! What an inspiration you have been in my plot! Your life of hiding, waiting... stalking your prey. At just the right moment... ATTACK!

Holy fuck, I had these ages ago but they never got nearly that big
... nearly got how big?
The ones I had were really tiny, I remember having them for a while too. Now that I think about it they were probably just fucking brine shrimp, even though they were most definitely packaged and sold as Triops™, I probably still have the booklet somewhere. All this time I never knew they were supposed to look like this, damn them taking advantage of 7 year old me!

I bought a deluxe kit about five years back. I got nine fully-grown triops out of the batch, all females. They're extremely cool as pets and conversation pieces. Watching them swim is almost hypnotic. They NEVER stop moving...at least while they're alive.
I still have the tank and other equipment. A local hobby store sells egg packs and food refills. I might start another tank for my nephew. He's into underwater critters and prehistoric stuff.
Anyway, if you can spare a few minutes every day to take care of the triops, I highly recommend getting one of the kits. They're low-maintenance, cool-looking and highly entertaining. They beat the Hell out of Sea Monkeys because you don't need a powerful magnifying glass to see them.

Ennio Morricone and Lavos are a hell of a combination.
