The story behind this scene is interesting. This footage was originally meant to be the opening of The Incredible Mr. Limpet. However, it was scrapped when the studio decided to take the film in a more lighthearted direction. This footage then sat for years on a shelf until director Don Barton came across it and decided to make a movie around it.
