Maybe he's a heavy sleeper and they picked him up out of his cage and put him there? To film him? Because it's adorable?

My little brother once owned a hamster. He twitched like this in his sleep. He was a very heavy sleeper. I think we ended up accidentally killing him in a childish attempt to "help" him stop his seizures by giving him water. In short, I think we waterboarded him to death.

I feel so guilty.

I involuntarily acquired one of these a while ago. One night it got real cold and I checked on him the next day and he was stiff as a board. I figured he was dead, but a quick google consultation revealed that he was hibernating and needed to wake back up, which is a lengthy process. I watched him thaw out and this video is exactly what it looked like.
