this was the best version of tetris

freedoom - 2008-08-13

I'm sorry but you are incorrect. the gameboy version was far superior because you could play it anywhere.

boner - 2008-08-13

I never went anywhere.

KnowFuture - 2008-08-13

The Gameboy version was superior because it came free with the original Gameboy. A lot of people bought one just to play Tetris.

The original NES version (from Tengen) was suprior because it had two player co-op and vs. modes. Also it used the Konami code! If you put it in you can...change the color of the pieces.

FUCK TENGEN

glasseye - 2008-08-13

The gameboy version was the best since it made long drives to California with annoying cousins completely bearable.

I thought I was pretty good at the NES version of Tetris. I cold get into the 400,000 point range if the pieces were in my favor.

Then I got Nintendo Power and saw some guy in BFE get some obscene score like 840,000.

My hopes at becoming a Tetris Olympiad for the American Full Contact Tetris team were dashed and it was then I knew that I would have to make room for better players who were more skilled to compete internationally.

By the time Barcelona rolled around in 1992, I secretly bought a plane ticket to cheer them on from the stands. America did their best but they only got Silver. The Gold went to the Croatian Dream Team. They were fantastic.

The best version is TetriNET, but this one is pretty good, too.

The Gameboy took too many batteries, unless you had an AC adaptor. And then you couldn't go anywhere without a plug.

The TI-82 version was far superior because you could play it in class.

Tetris makes buildings collapse. It makes creepy little kids ask you stupid questions. It makes you wear bright purple shirts.

Ageusiatic - 2008-08-13

I think what makes this commercial interesting is that they have to put in so much action, and there's very little footage of the game itself.

Tetris is the greatest game of all time, but you'd never know it if someone simply described it to you, or you watched twenty seconds of it being played in between mcdonalds commercials.

Ersatz - 2008-08-13

Tetris is not a game. It is a SETI program of the block-people to get us to communicate telepathically with them in our dreams.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-08-13

Hey, guys.

I remember this commercial.

citrusmirakel - 2012-03-20

Good, because remembering things that happened in the early 90's is still apparently really fun to do.
