The touch of Dino De Laurentiis-- soundtrack by Vangelis, the same people that brought you Dune.

I don't think Vangelis had anything to do with Dune (that was all Toto)...still reminiscent in epic flair and same amount of angry mad shouting

oh shit I was thinking of Bladerunner, which had nothing to do with Dino.

Talking about Hopkins's best performance is like talking about the best time you got kicked in the balls, though.

What he said.

No more grog was a really fucking draconian rule to put down when you're halfway around the world from anything like home.

Mutiny On The Bounty is a damned good read. Just sayin'.

I like this, but has anyone actually done any real research into Bligh? He was a fucking brilliant captain; the mutiny was more to do with lots of english people suddenly realising there are places where its warm and doesn't rain all the time.

This is a really good movie as well. Good supporting cast as well, although Mel Gibson is maybe a tad too....melodramatic.

I think what I like about this movie the most is that it really doesn't take a side, I don't think. I think it really, deftly balanced the line of making out both Bligh and Christian as men doing wrong things for reasons they felt were right, and by the end of the film, the semingly bold heroism of Christian is overshadowed by his failures and the fact that Bligh could be killed by weeks on the open sea.

In other words, I don't think anyone is portrayed as totally wrong or right like it was in the older versions.
StanleyPain
sorry...could NOT be killed.
